"I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing."

Jonah

Jonah was a prophet from Northern Israel who lived at a time when Assyria was a growing threat to Israel's existence. God told Jonah to go to Nineveh, the capital of Assyria, and warn them of the impending judgment on the city. Jonah didn't want to go because he didn't want them to repent their sins and be saved. But God taught the reluctant prophet that he is a God who is concerned with all peoples of the world. May God help us to know the heart of God!
