The book of Acts is the second part of Luke's history. St. Luke was a historian, a physician, and a companion of Paul in his missionary journeys. The main theme of the book is the world mission command of our Lord Jesus, best summarized in 1:8. It teaches us how the Christian church began and grew during the first 30 years. The book especially tells about the work of the two of the apostles--Peter and Paul. Peter is the central person involved in beginning of the church in Jerusalem and Paul is the important missionary who preached the gospel of Jesus Christ to the Gentile world. Acts is also called "The Acts of the Holy Spirit" because it teaches about the coming and work of the Holy Spirit. The book teaches us the principles that ought to govern the church of any age. Try to answer the questions by carefully following the Scriptures. If you want to study the Bible personally with a mature person, please contact us via e-mail.
